when i took the train back home with yasmin just now. i saw this pair of father-daughter.

they were sitting at the corner and 2nd last seat and the father kept hugging the daughter (about 12/13 yrs old?) close to his chest and the girl leaned against her father's chest and slept.

the father ocassionally touched his daughter's face, and tugged flyaway hair back behind her ears.

and the girl would tilt her head up and kiss her dad.

i was suddenly brought back into my memories that i shared with my dad. i tried to search for any events of intimacy we shared, sitting side by side, or holding each other's hands whilst walking down the road. (of course i meant when i was younger...)

but as far as i can remember, there was none.

my dad is a very quiet man at home. he don't talk alot, and thus, he doesn't share his thoughts and emotions openly. he won't show it if he's sad. he won't show it if he's happy.

but yes, he do smile, he do laugh.

my family is a family that doesn't openly express our affections for one another. but rather, we buy things for one another as a way of expressing love.

like the other day, i bought like 6-7 muffins which my brother likes, for my brother.

and like my mom bought me a full length mirror because she knows i needed one.

i wish my family were the touchy kind.

i bet the father-daughter would snuggle beside one another on the television couch and watch the latest drama together.

nothing in this world could win the affection your loved one shows you.
